TA Electronic Portfolio AssignmentBenchmark Assignment: Developing a Professional Portfolio
Rationale: The act of creating a professional portfolio will afford you the opportunity to reflect on what you have accomplished during your pre-service preparation. In this portfolio assignment, you will present evidence of your ability to meet the InTASC and ISTE NETS-T Standards. You will take the professional portfolio that you created last semester and convert it into an Internet website that includes a homepage and links to your portfolio items. There are many websites that help you design your own web pages, including Weebly, Wordpress, Wiki Spaces, SquareSpace, Webs.com, Google Sites, Blogger, and PB Works. The UA College of Education has created a website (http://uaeport.weebly.com) to provide assistance with four of these: Weebly, Wordpress, Blogger and Google Sites. Presentation and Professionalism If you choose to include student work, student names must be redacted and student permission must be obtained. Do not include photographs of students. Keep in mind that anyone can access these websites. We caution you to omit personal identity information such as your home address, home email, phone number, student ID number on transcripts, and social security number. You should also carefully consider whether to include photographs of yourself. The presentation should be professional. There should be no grammatical, typing or spelling errors. You want to impress potential employers who might access the site. The website should also be well organized and easy to navigate. The homepage should be visually appealing and provide an organized overview of the items contained in the portfolio. From the homepage, one should be able to navigate directly to and back from your items, and all documents should open easily and correctly. |
